In 1943 the fathers of the Hockey Hall of Fame first explored the idea of honouring the greatest heroes of this country’s favourite past time. They would erect an entire building to commemorate the outstanding contributions of hockey’s finest members. Thus, the Hockey Hall of Fame was born at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. For nearly fifty years the Hockey Hall of Fame has served to recognize historical people, objects, images and stories. Still today, hockey’s history continues.
Decades after the Hall of Fame’s first induction, a legacy of a whole new order was being forged. In 1979, Xentel DM Inc.’s industrious founders decided to create a service unheard of until then. They would raise funds for selected charities through energy-charged, high impact, family focused events. And they would keep audiences coming back year after year. One of these events was the Oldtimers’ Hockey Challenge wherein retired NHL legends and Hall of Famers alike would show off their trademark hockey prowess against local law enforcement agencies. All the while, raising money for local charities.
It is with great honour that Xentel DM continues its alliance, positioning it as an official sponsor of the Hockey Hall of Fame.
