Legendary Hall of Famer Don Jackson to Perform at Legends GameIn 1962 in Prague. Don Jackson wowed 9 judges, 18,000 specators and 250,000,000 television viewers when he performed the first triple lutz jump in competition, scoring 7 perfect marks to become the first Canadian male ever to win the World Championships. Don Jackson goes down in the history books as the "King of Blades" as this Oshawa skater was inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Game in 1977. Jackson began a figure skater dynasty for Canadian male skaters which continues today with Elvis Stojko. Among many achievements, Don Jackson has the following accolades to his name:
He also continues to work with skaters in the Special Olympic programs in Ottawa and has produced World Champions at Special Olympics. He also teaches power skating to young hockey players. Don Jackson is truly the "Greatest Figure Skating Legend" ever and is pleased to perform at the Oldtimers' Hockey Challenge. |
